Resource Description

This document provides an overview of the Connecticut Mastery Test (CMT) in science administered at Grades 5 and 8 and the Connecticut Academic Performance Test (CAPT) in science administered in Grade 10.

This Test Administration Manual (TAM) is intended for staff who play a role in the online administration of the Connecticut Mastery Test and Connecticut Academic Performance Test in Science (CMT/CAPT Science). The roles include District Test Coordinators (DCs), School Test Coordinators (SCs), Teachers (TEs), and Test Administrators (TAs). All testing staff should be thoroughly familiar with the contents of this manual prior to test administration, as the manual provides procedural and policy guidance to prepare for and administer the CMT/CAPT Science online assessments.

This manual is to be used by test examiners when administering the Grade 5 Connecticut Mastery Test (CMT) in Science. It includes specific instructions related to test security, administration, and general information about the testing program, as well as a description of the test materials, the role of the test examiner, and the activities to be completed prior to, during, and after testing.

This manual provides information for test examiners for the Connecticut Academic Performance Test (CAPT) Science test administration for grade 10. It includes instructions for test preparation and administration in the classroom.  All test examiners should be thoroughly familiar with the contents of this manual prior to paper test administration.

This manual provides information for the Connecticut Academic Performance Test (CAPT) Science Practice Test. The CAPT Science Practice Test is to be administered prior to the administration of the CAPT Science Test to all students in Grade 10. Instructions for administration are provided in this document.
